Expanded Territory Tourism Discount Scheme kicks off 

An expanded round of the Territory Tourism Discount Scheme has kicked off from 1 October.

Territorians can access a discount of up to 25% on tourism product and experiences undertaken  across the Territory over a 6-month period.

The discount applies to eligible bookings made through Visitor Information Centres in Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, and Yulara. Available for transactions of up to $5,000, the discount will automatically be applied to sales of bookable product.

The scheme is open in the Top End from 1 October while in Central Australia the scheme commenced on 1 September.

Different in every adventure 

Tourism NT has unveiled the latest chapter of its global Tripadvisor campaign. A first-of-its-kind collaboration with the Darwin Street Art Festival (DSAF) takes the Northern Territory to the vibrant streets of Los Angeles.

A standout feature of Different in every adventure is the DSAF mural activation. In phase one, local NT artists Jason Lee and Trent Lee travelled to LA to collaborate with LA-based artist Ryan Yanoe on a mural that captures the essence of both the Top End and Red Centre.

The mural will include a QR code with more inspiration for travelling to the Northern Territory including a 10% discount offer on NT experiences with Viator.

Sharing your culture with visitors campaign 

Tourism NT has launched a new campaign ‘Sharing your culture with visitors’, which aims to increase Aboriginal participation in the Northern Territory’s tourism sector.

The campaign invites Aboriginal Territorians to establish or expand cultural experiences that showcase their rich heritage, offering visitors the chance to engage with one of the world’s oldest living cultures.

NT Muster 2024  

Around 30 Tourism operators, major sponsors and Tourism NT representatives have returned from a whirlwind tour of our southern states, presenting NT tourism product to domestic travel consultants, product managers, inbound tour operators, and online travel agents. 

This year over 250 delegates attended the annual NT Muster which celebrated the 30th anniversary of Priscilla - Queen of the Desert with performances by local drag stars Marzi Panne and Stone Motherless Cold.

Tourism NT is hosting the annual NT Global Connect in October, bringing its international representatives to the Northern Territory. Join them to hear firsthand about travel trends and insights from around the world, including Tourism NT’s Tourism Industry Strategy and plans to increase international visitation to the Territory. Market updates will be provided from the UK, Europe, North America, Germany, Japan, China and Singapore. Events take place in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs.

Red CentreNATS celebrates 10 years in style 

More than 800 modified vehicles and over 10,000 attendees flocked to Alice Springs for an incredible Father’s Day weekend at Red CentreNATS (RCN) 10, celebrating a decade of the Ultimate Festival of Wheels.

Thomas Warr took home the title of RCN Champion with his 1974 Holden HQ Ute, while Lee Povey's 1987 VL Calais won the prestigious People’s Choice Award. Mark your calendars for Red CentreNATS 11, happening from 5–7 September 2025.

Alice Springs Masters Games return

The countdown is on for the Alice Springs Masters Games (ASMG) return to Central Australia from 12-19 October 2024.

The ASMG, which began in 1986, is the second oldest Masters Games in the world and is a fun and inclusive sporting competition that will also provide an opportunity to explore the stunning Red Centre, from the rich history in Alice Springs to the stunning MacDonnell Ranges.
